As a Coach and Guide I Do Not:
My work is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health care provider with any questions you may have regarding yourself or your child who may or may not have a medical condition.
My work is to offer education and support.
Challenge professional opinions
I work on the assumption that you are under the care of a physician or other qualified health care provider. If you do not agree with the diagnosis that you have been given, I am not the person to discuss this with and highly recommend you get a second professional opinion. I fully respect the medical community and the labels that they use to identify specific conditions and will support you in seeing these labels as 'care labels' that can hold valuable information for you and the children in your life.
Make decisions for you
As a parent, caregiver or educator, you are ultimately responsible for the decisions that will affect your child's life and education. I offer information, tools, and ideas that are based in neuroscience, psychology, and childhood & youth studies, which will help you provide an ideal environment for your child's learning success. If and how you implement these ideas remains your decision.
Project my own beliefs onto your experience
We are all wired differently, and we all have unique experiences and live in diverse environments. I do not claim to know better than you about your self or your child. I offer information, tools, and ideas for you to explore, and I encourage you to keep what works and leave what doesn't - only your instincts will know the difference!
